After the ceremony the Sheffield lads headed to the backstage bar to celebrate their latest batch of gongs only to face a grilling from staff at London's O2 Arena .
Maybe they failed to recognise a baffled Alex Turner who was kept waiting as his bandmates were quizzed by the doorman.
The Rascals frontman, Miles Kane, who recently recorded an album with Turner, told thelondonpaper: “It was ridiculous. We came up here to celebrate with the Monkeys but we had to argue with the doorman to get in. They said we had the wrong passes.”
But the snub failed to dampen spirits (??) after the indie rock band picked up a trio of prizes including best track for, Fluorescent Adolescent best video for Teddy Picker and the big one - best British band.
It follows their double win at last week's Brits where they attracted as much attention for their fashion as their music after dressing up as country gents before taking full advantage of the free bar :)
Last night, wearing more conventional outfits, Turner told fans: “Tonight we're going to attempt to behave like the gentlemen that we were dressed as last week.”
And they nearly pulled it off - until the end of the evening that was when the 22-year old singer was seen having a spot of bother staying vertical. (ca veut dire quoi la fin de la phrase??)
A source said: “He was stumbling about everywhere and his manager had to help prop him up as he had his photograph taken with fans.”
